A tribute to the people who keep the mining traditions alive, this is the Czech Permon
The Czech Permon is a prestigious award given to personalities and institutions that have contributed significantly to the preservation and development of mining traditions in the Czech Republic.
The award is presented annually by the Association of Mining and Metallurgical Associations of the Czech Republic in five categories:
- Mining Folklore
- Preservation of technical monuments
- The greatest achievement of the year
- Lifetime achievement
- Extraordinary Award
The award takes the form of a Permon statuette placed on a bell-shaped pedestal - a symbol of mining craftsmanship and traditions.
The award ceremony takes place every year at a meeting of mining towns and villages in the Czech Republic, where representatives of mining associations, towns and institutions from all over the country and abroad gather.
In Příbram, the award ceremony will take place on Saturday 13 June 2025 at 6 p.m. in the Church of St. Vojtěch in Březové Hory.
