Mining Museum Příbram - Vojtěch Mine
Sightseeing area C "Vojtěch Mine" is situated in the Vojtěch Mine, which was built in 1779.In the shaft building, a technical monument of Malakov-type architecture from 1870, built on the site of the historic pit, there is a permanent exhibition dedicated to the world's first achievement of 1000 m vertical depth in the Vojtěch pit in 1875. On the upper floors, visitors can see a gallery of artworks with mining themes by the academic painter Karel Hojden and the academic sculptor Václav Šara and enjoy the panoramic view from the mine tower.
In the exhibition hall of the Vojtěch Mine's shaft room, regularly changed thematic exhibitions are on display. Visitors will also be interested in a tour of the historical underground of the shaft building. In the nearby engine room, there is another unique steam mining machine by Breitfeld & Daněk from 1889.
Another attraction at the Vojtěch Mine is the restored mining forge from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The forge equipment consists of an original tin smokestack, a forge, an air bellows (from the mid-19th century), an anvil, forge vises, a forge hammer made by Rudolf Schmidt & Co. Vienna, type AJAX I (the smallest model) from the end of the 19th century. The drive of this hammer is provided by an electric motor with a vertical pulley, a product of Wichterle & Kovářík, a. s. Prostějov, serial no. 6760, type BK I 5 with an output of 1.47 kW (1.5 HP), at a speed of 1410 / min, Stator 380 V - 2.5 A or 220 V - 4.3 A (1st third of the 20th century). The equipment also includes a metal lathe made by Volman from the beginning of the 20th century. Demonstrations of blacksmithing work only by prior arrangement for groups of at least 20 people.
