Museum of Gold

The museum is located in the historical building of the so-called Mint from the 15th century on Jiřího z Poděbrad Square, the former seat of the Perkmistro office in the royal upper town on the banks of the gold-bearing Kocáby River. The exhibitions present the history of gold mining and processing in the Novoknín region from the earliest times until the 20th century, the history of the town, local crafts and industry, and the history of the world gold panning championships in the Czech Republic and abroad.
