The open-air museum

The open-air museum preserves valuable monuments of rural architecture, which illustrate the development of the folk house from the mid-17th to the early 20th century in the Central Bohemian Uplands and the Central Povltava region, in the area affected by stone mining. Residential, economic, technical and small sacral buildings threatened with extinction in their original location are gradually being transferred to the natural area in the stream valley. The interior exhibitions bring closer the way of living and farming in the village. The region's museum collections preserve items of rural household equipment, folk clothing, agricultural and craft tools and implements, as well as other items documenting the peasant economy.
