Hiking trip to PILSKA

From Orlov (local part of Příbram, public transport) we will go along the edge of the forest in a southerly direction along the 8190 cycle route to the U Slaniny grove. Here we can stop at a large game preserve with deer. From here we continue along the forest asphalt road called Slaninská. After less than 2 km we reach the Pilský Pond, which is the third largest body of water in Brdy.

Pilský Pond (originally called Žofinský Pond) was built between 1849 and 1853, originally as a water reservoir for the mines and metallurgical plants in Příbram. The water was channelled to them by means of a unique water work, the so called drains. Now the reservoir is the largest reservoir of drinking water for Příbram and its surroundings. From the dam you can see one of the Brda's eight-pointed peaks Brdce (839 m) across the water.

From the Pila reservoir, continue at the crossroads above the pond to the right on cycle route 8198. At the top of the climb, turn right (shelter here) onto the green marked Třemošenská path. This path leads past Mala Ohrádka (734 m) and Ohrádka (747 m) to the Nad Slaninou crossroads (shelter here), from where we continue down the green trail (on the steep downhill section we rather lead the bike) to the forest crossroads Pod Třemošnou, from which we descend back to Orlov.
